I'm sure it's blatantly obvious, but I'm all about the breakfast shakes right now. I've been getting pretty experimental and this one came about recently . . . because who doesn't like blueberries and chocolate in the morning!? If you're on the go like most Americans, I suggest getting something (preferably healthy) in your body before you start the day. A breakfast shake is an easy way to do this because it has easily digestible ingredients with minimal prep time and clean up. You will jump start your metabolism and hopefully have more willpower to skip the unhealthy snacks around the office.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Greens (spinach + kale)
Optional: protein powder
This cacao-berry breakfast shake can replace breakfast as it contains greens, healthy fats, protein, fiber, etc.
Cacao-Berry Breakfast Shake
ALMOND MILK, COCONUT WATER, KALE, SPINACH, CACAO POWDER, BLUEBERRIES, ALMOND BUTTER, FLAX MEAL, & PROTEIN
total Time: 5 minutes
2 cups almond milk
1 cup coconut water
2 cups greens (I used one spinach & one kale)
2 cups frozen blueberries
2 Tablespoons almond butter
2 Tablespoons flax meal
2 Tablespoons cacao powder
Optional: 1-2 scoops vegan protein powder
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy.
