Homemade Halloween Series: HOMEMADE TWIX

DSCF2120.jpg

Who knew that a homemade Twix was soooo easy!?!?!  If I knew this when I was a kid, I would have set up shop down the street selling these things to neighbors!  Seriously though . . . It mimics the flavor perfectly and you don't get the sick feeling we all know so well from the store bought kind.

HOMEMADE TWIX

serves about 8

Total time: about 30 min

INGREDIENTS

  • Shortbread Sticks
  • Carmel (vegan recipe here)
  • 70 % + Dark Chocolate

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place shortbread sticks over wax paper.  Drizzle shortbread sticks with carmel and freeze for about 15 minutes.
  2. Melt 70% Dark Chocolate in double broiler or over low heat.
  3. Dip carmel covered shortbread in melted chocolate.  Freeze for another 15 minutes or so.

 STORAGE:

I like to store these in the freezer until I'm ready to eat :D.  Keeps for a few weeks.
