WHAT YOU NEED:
Most of you know I primarily stick to a plant based, gluten free diet. It's not a super fun dinner conversation, but it seems to work well for my system. However, I'm not much of a rigid rules type-of-person, so when I see the benefits of something outweighing the risks, I easily make exceptions. For me, digestive health has always been problematic and I have become pretty good at identifying my personal triggers as to what does and does not work for me. If you haven't read the book Clean Gut, I absolutely recommend it to get to know your own triggers a little bit better! Kefir is one of those exception items for me. Research shows extensive health benefits to this fermented food, so I choose to include it into my routine for the protein, probiotics, and calming effect on the nervous system. Blueberry Kefir Smoothie
Kefir, Blueberries, Spinach, Banana, Flax Meal & Cinnamon
total Time: 5 minutes
- 2 Cups Kefir (plain, NOT the sweetened kind)
- 2 Cups Frozen Blueberries
- 1 heaping handful of Spinach
- 1 banana
- 2 Tablespoons Flax Meal
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!
